Participation with the HLSA and its Clubs/SIGs

  • If someone is looking to receive your HLSA Club/SIG newsletters (emails), encourage them to log into your Club/SIG's website and update their profile information. Once an alumnus logs in (hosted through AlumniMagnet), they will automatically be subscribed to your Club/SIG newsletters. Additional information on email subscriptions and HarvardKey is available.
  • Encourage regular Club/SIG attendees to share an event invitation with three other HLS alumni.
  • The HLSA is open to all degree-holding graduates of Harvard Law School. If a Club/SIG volunteer is unsure if someone is an HLS alumnus, you can confirm through the Harvard Alumni Association's (HAA) Directory or contact the Alumni Relations team at hlsa@law.harvard.edu.

Participation with HLS and HU

  • The HLS Alumni Center offers alumni volunteer opportunities beyond the HLSA and its Clubs/SIGs. These include participation in Class Reunion and Affinity Celebration committees and giving programs to encourage peers to give to HLS. Contact alumnirelations@law.harvard.edu for additional information.
  • The Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) is the alumni association for all Harvard University graduates. If someone is looking to engage with the broader Harvard alumni audience, consider sharing with them the HAA's alumni engagement offerings.

At your Club/SIG events

  • If your Club/SIG is looking for responses or feedback from your alumni audience, consider noting these in your remarks at an event or encouraging Club/SIG volunteers to discuss with HLS alumni throughout the event.
    • For example: A call to action (availability of Club/SIG volunteer roles, ensure contact information is up to date).
  • Encourage HLS alumni to view the Advocate for Harvard & Higher Education to stay informed on Harvard news and happenings.
  • Ask individuals to ensure your Club/SIG has their correct email address. If they are not receiving emails, ask them to log into your Club/SIG website using HarvardKey. Additional details here.
  • Consider sharing campus news, happenings, or stories from HLS.
    • At the bottom of each Club/SIG web homepage, there are RSS feeds that pull in content from various HLS print and digital communication channels. Club/SIG volunteers are welcome to reference this to find interesting stories to share.
    • Pictured in red below is an example of the location of the RSS feeds on a Club/SIG web homepage:
